VIDEO: Diaphragm or Piston?
Lemar Wright explains diaphragm and piston elements
29 July 2024
Lemar Wright continues with part-two of our short, informative video mini-series where he talks us through:
• Knowing when to use either a diaphragm or piston sensed element in a pressure regulator? It depends on your application . . .
• An application requiring accurate low pressure (under 35 bar is low pressure for us) and dependent on flow rate, opt for a diaphragm offering increased sensitivity and finer control
• The diaphragm materials that we offer are either INCONEL X-750 or an elastomer that’s suitable for the media being used
• Piston sensed elements are used when dealing with high pressure outlets, up to 1380 bar
• Altering the diameter of the sensor paired with different load springs to get the desired outlet control range
